I hate to say it but its a desperate attempt to make Christmas seem as special as when I was a little kid with Santa, Christmas cookies, candlelit services, and big family gatherings.
My family is spread all over the U.S. this year. My sister is in California, my parents in Colorado. I'm living in a little apartment while the house is being built, so there isn't really room for a big fancy tree. I just have this little tree on our kitchen table set up.
The angel just happens to be Jen's little boy. :) Her Christmas cards were amazingly cute, I just had to display the little guy.
I love giving gifts. Like love love love.
So really giving 12 presents to Joe instead of the 1 big one we usually do is more for me than him, but hopefully he has fun too.
I wrote a little message on our Bathroom mirror in dry erase marker so he'll see it right when he wakes up this morning, day 1.
"On the first day of Christmas,
my true love gave to me...
