Babies & Birthdays
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday.
The Holiday was full of Babies and Birthdays.
I went to Creede, Colorado to see my family. My parents retired up there and live in a cabin in the small town.
My sister flew in from California with my 8 month old nephew, Jeremiah. They named him after the mountain man Jeremiah Johnson, a movie with Robert Redford. So I have the little soundtrack song on my IPhone I like to play for him when I see him.
Here he is:
Jen and her new little family are doing great. They had some 1 week old pictures taken to make into Christmas cards:
I had a birthday yesterday.
I'm starting to really dislike birthdays.
I've never really been fond of growing a year older, even as a little girl, but now as I get ever closer to the big 3-0 I get antsy about where I am in life. I had a depressing evening last night. It was a long day at work, very busy after being gone for a week, and I had a headache & my stomach hurt. I decided instead of the big night out in Tulsa I had originally planned, I stayed in town and Joe took me to Chilis, then we went home and vegged out.
The less I acknowledge the passing birthday means it doesn't really happen right?
Well, a few women at work also have birthdays over the past week, so all of us are celebrating a combined birthday at the Casino this Friday.
I'll acknowledge I'm 28 only with a few shots in me, and my girlfriends cheering me on.

Surprise - You're in Labor!
So much for my baby countdown on the right -->
Baby Jackson made an early appearance on Tuesday night.
Jen woke up that morning and decided to take it easy and not come into work.
Something didn't seem quite right, so she leisurely went into the doc that morning, just to be sure.
Low and behold they send her to the hospital, she is in labor.
She let me be in the room during the actual birth,
I have to say it was a genuinely surreal experience, an extreme privilege, and an honor to have been included in such a wonderous event.
To my best friend:
May God be with you and bless you;
May you see your children's children.
May you be poor in misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
May you know nothing but happiness
From this day forward.

Getaway
Today has been hard.
Keep thinking about getting away to Creede in a week.
Getting back to Nature.
Putting everything into perspective.
;)
Saw Skyfall yesterday. 'M' from the movie quoted a Tennyson poem, thought I would leave you with that.
Ulysses:
"Though much is taken, much abides;
and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are...
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

No Shave November
So our work is doing a NO SHAVE NOVEMBER contest. The men are all competing for the best facial hair. They can have sponsers and receive donations which will, in turn, go to the Cancer Foundation and our RAE Family Fund for needy families.
I was sick a lot of the weekend with a head cold, and Saturday night Joe went out with friends while I watched a 'Duck Dynasty' marathon. This show is about the Robertson family, a down-to-earth redneck family that became extremely wealthy from their creation of a duck call, the "Duck Commander".
I have to say this is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows.
Not only because I'm strangely attracted to the facial hair, but also because they are hilariously redneck. Like endearingly so.
They just seem to be having a blast all of the time. Just sitting around and joking with each other, doing whatever they want. I guess that freedom comes with millions of dollars, but really they just enjoy life, value family, and love the outdoors.
If you haven't caught it you should really set your DVR for the A&E channel and record a few episodes. You won't be disappointed.
*fyi, if this post doesn't make any sense, just know the Dayquil is flowing*

Jen's Baby Shower Pics
Its not October anymore, so once again, I had to put the Audrey background to bed.
Thought I would welcome in the Fall with a new background, and some pictures from the baby shower I hosted for Jen.
