So the PJ party Friday was a hit.
Hipster Batgirl/ Drunk Mel definitely made an appearance...
Jen doesn't really like this pic, but I think we're cute, so hopefully she won't be too mad at me for posting it.
Love the photo-bomb of Kevin in the background.
My identity was discovered...
As the night wore on the pictures got even sillier.
More pouty faces, wrestling, etc.
But I figured I'd just post some tame ones.
A superhero's work is never done though...
Saturday I didn't have much time to recover.
I woke up around 8:30, cleaned the company lakehouse up, showered and met Jen for a pregnancy class the hospital put on in Claremore, we went and saw a movie, then headed to downtown for 'Joe Mamma's Pizza', watched a little roller derby on the streets, and then saw the Dracula Ballet at the PAC.
Sunday I just went to church and napped all day.
Batgirl can nap on Sundays.
Give her a break.

Halloween Party
So, I host an annual Halloween Party at our Company's Lake House out on Lake Hudson every year, well, 3 years now. I'm looking forward to it. Quite a few people are coming, and we sit around in PJs, play drinking games, have horror movies playing in the background, and eat.
Should be a fun time.
Jen is our Designated Sober person since being prego. She relates back to me the next day and corrects what I invisioned happened the night before, to the actual events.
I love Halloween.

Ponderings from Bed
I'm laying here in bed winding down from the day, thinking about social graces. Joe gets on to me because I'm awkward with stuff like that... Forgetting a phone sign-off/goodbye and just hanging up. Hey, the convo's over, this isn't a walkie talkie, I don't need to say "over and out." But Joe says it makes you sound angry or something, like I've hung up abruptly to make a statement instead of slamming down the phone which is obsolete since we don't usually have receivers anymore.
Or my habit of saying "no problem" or "sure" when someone says "thanks." What does " your welcome" even mean? You're able? You can experience my niceties again soon? Well I'm just saying this old dog will probably not learn any new tricks anytime soon.
So, if I hang up on you, just know I was done.

Dracula Ballet???
So, I got an email from the Tulsa PAC about their Dracula Ballet this morning and I'm like 'Huh?'
I was suddenly reminded of the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, in which Jason Segel writes a Dracula Musical which he performs with Puppets at the end of the movie....
Its pretty hilarious, and so I think, "Dracula Ballet? Oh Hell yeah!" Afterall, every little girl wants to be a ballerina, and one of my favorite classical literature books of all time is Dracula. Haha, 'Me like Dracula, me like ballet.' Thank God I talked Jen into going with me or I'd be sitting in the Mezzanine all by myself like a dork.
I wonder if she'll still go if I dress up like a vampire....

Baby Shower Madness
With only 8 weeks to go, Baby John is swiftly reaching his arrival date. It can't come soon enough for this momma...I'm so done with pregnancy! Especially after bedrest and a few complications from preterm labor and contractions. One thing keeping me excited is the upcoming baby shower Mel is throwing us next Wednesday. Her enthusiasm and attention to detail for the shower and time she's spent preparing every little thing for it has really meant a lot to me personally. With my family and childhood friends not around, sometimes I've felt alone and rather independent, without a huge circle of friends like I've been accustomed to growing up. I've had to learn to be ok with spending holidays without my family and support system. Not to throw a pity party, I've come to terms with living in a different state and the losses that come with that. But there are several huge gains...mainly a great husband and wonderful marriage and a wonderful friend who has unselfishly taken time out of her day to plan something like this for me. And that means a whole, whole lot. Love you!

When the Husband's away, the monsters will play
Little girl speak:
Monsters tried to eat me last night.
It was a close call.
Ripley, my dog, growled and scared them away though.
Reality:
My husband is out of town. I was sleeping soundly until Ripley started growling when she heard a nondescript noise, and suddenly it felt like I was 6 yrs old again and monsters were trying to get me.
But when you are an adult woman the monsters are burglers instead of green goblins.
I actually panicked and froze on the bed for several minutes deciding whether or not to attempt to get out of bed and turn on the light. (The Ostrich Effect- thinking they can't get you unless they can see you.) I did the whole jump directly from the bed move to switch on the light. But the only thing waiting for me was Ripley, the little turkey, looking at me from the doorway with the head tilt like I've gone crazy. *sigh*
I used to sleep better alone!
Damn 7 years of marriage!

Spooky setting
I decorated for Halloween today, which was difficult because all our decor is in storage. But I had a lantern, a black blanket ;) and some cheesecloth around the house. Add a 4 dollar set of pumpkins from Walmart today and I'm pretty set.
Need to put in a scary movie!
Love October.

You are the Fall
Some people are like the Spring,
Bursting with vitality of what the world will bring.
But not you, you are the Fall,
The quiet cooling, the evening’s call.
The rustling leaves, the sunset’s final ray.
The calm after the storm is your way.
I love this time of year.

They're BACK.....
We haven't posted in a while....
So not only are we back, but its October, so Zombie Audrey is back also.
I love this time of year. The highs are in the 70s and the lows are in the 40s, and my favorite holiday is just around the corner.
No, not Christmas, HALLOWEEN.
I love that every movie channel plays scary movies all month, the theaters are full of them too. American Horror Story starts again, one of the few TV series' I like, and DEXTER is on Showtime. I'm in Heaven.*sigh*
This month should be fun.
I'm hosting a Halloween party at our Company lakehouse the weekend before Halloween, and I'm also hosting Jen's baby shower on the 17th.
Yes, Jen has a person growing in her!
(not just a foot, but a whole baby...I just really like the photo of the tootsies)
Its time to dust off my Halloween mix CD.
